Maple Hill Hackney Pony Farm
We bought our first Hackney, K&M’s Cameo, from Drs. Ken
and Mary Wahl in the early 1990’s and we have had Hackney ponies ever
since.
We’ve enjoyed our ponies and the friends we’ve made along the way.
Two years ago, considering health issues, we reduced our broodmare band to
a very select few. We are retiring from ponies now, and
offer the following quality brood and show stock for your review and
consideration. Mares may relocate as soon as purchased. Stallions
will relocate when the visiting mares here to be bred are checked in
foal.

An outstanding, potent, well-mannered bay stallion
who has produced well. Hand breeder. He collects easily. No issues, healthy
with no bad habits. Loves to have a ball to play with in
his stall. Used carefully and selectively over the
last 12 years.
Still a knockout, with a stretchy body, long legs, thin
long neck, and great trot.

habits who still looks like a million and has motion to burn.

We purchased this mare from Lee and Beverly as a
baby. “May” is plain, dark, exquisitely beautiful with
tremendous trot. Lovely personality. She is
a favorite mare and has been bred to DH Center of Attention
for 2011. Given her tight pedigree on Cadetson’s Choice, she is a once in
a lifetime pony. We will confirm her in foal after June
21 when our vet returns from his vacation. Her first foal is being shown on the
West Coast.

She is 46”, has produced some very wonderful show foals and is from

get in the ring. Bred to Cadet, she has given us her
best foals.

Lulu is a top mare, has great motion, a solid muscular body, and
the obligatory long legs and long neck that the male line brings to her
pedigree.

There are some ponies who just have
that beautiful “look” about them and this mare falls into that
category.
“Betty” is a 48” bay Hackney who produces well. She is one of
the family favorites, good looks, good trot, great personality with no
issues.
She has been bred to Cadet, and will be checked when the vet
returns.

“Birdie” was shown in fine harness, and then joined
our broodband. Her third daughter, MH Takes the Cake,
was the 2005 LBS winner and has gone on to produce very well at
Dunn’s.
Birdie is in great condition and has had no health issues, but for
some reason, this year she has been difficult to get
in foal, and so we are offering her as a driving pony rather than a brood
prospect. This pony is special to us as she was a gift to us when we
purchased her dam from Lee and Bev. She needs more than a retirement
home.
With a short refresher course, Birdie could be someone’s special
driving mare. She is out with Cadet in the paddock and should she
conceive, we’ll call it a buyer bonus. This mare is a favorite.

Merry is a substantial bay mare, over 50”, tall and
long-legged, with a dark glossy coat. Her motion is extreme at full trot.
She is out of the lovely mare First Lady, who is by Awesome Creation, thus
heavily bred on Cadetson’s Choice on both sides. She is a mare
that we would keep if we could. Merry has had one foal , and has not
been bred yet for 2011. Our plan is to breed her to DH Center
of Attention this time. Call for details and an update on her
breeding.
All Hackneys are FOB, and will be current on
vaccinations and health paperwork when transferred.
