M2421 - is regarded by many as the greatest Hackney Pony of his time having earned many World Grand Champion titles in both the Open and Amateur division; maybe more than any pony ever shown. Bred by ABC Farms of Brampton, Ontario, Apollo Sand was by Mr. Sandman and out of the great producing Crystal Lady daughter, Crystal Jewel. Certainly ‘bred to the purple,” Apollo Sand was trained throughout his career by Gib Marcucci; first for ABC Farms and subsequently for Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler. With victories from Devon to Lexington, Louisville  to Eastern States, and back home at the Royal. This brilliant gelding created many memories for his fans throughout the Hackney World.
