Hurstwood Toreador

Toreador
Marfleet Raffles X Hurstwood Pompadour
Foaled 1960

Exhibited by Mr. Jim Harvey, Glen Lawrence Farm, Kingston, Ontario.  Trained by Jim Young.  Bred by A. H. Grant, Hull, Yorkshire, England.  Imported to the USA by Chauncey Stillman, New York, New York in 1964.  Mr. Stillman showed Toredor lightly in single and pair classes for a few seasons.  In 1969, Mr. Harvey was on the lookout for a nice top class horse to replace Application, and Toredor was made available to him.  The horse was purchased, and Canada became his home.  Exhibited at Devon, Ottawa, Eastern States, Syracuse and the Royal, he was always in the top ribbons. He continued his winning ways until Mr Harvey retired him, following a final win at the Royal at age 22.
