Jill's Magic Prince

Foaled 1959

Jill's Magic Prince was bred by Harvey Moore, Ridgetown, Ontario. Sired by Film Magnate, owned by Allan Burke, Port Stanley, Ontario and out of Alasa Jill. Alasa Jill, sired by Cassilis Magic was bred at the Alasa Farm in New York, and imported to Canada in 1945 by James Franceschini. Robert Alderman Sr., Hamilton Ontario bought Alasa Jill and exhibited her in harness at many Ontario Shows, and started her career as a broodmare. Harvey Moore became her final owner, and when bred to Film Magnate, the resulting offspring was registered as Alasa Prince, later named Jill's Magic Prince. While on a trip to Ontario in January 1962, Lowell and Lowell Lee Dunn of the Dun-Haven Farm visited Mr. Moore. This young prospect caught their eye and the purchase was negotiated. Used as a breeding stallion and show pony, he left his mark on the hackney breed. Exhibited in the show ring as Wing Commander, this pony was World Champion Hackney Pony when campaigned by Tom Moore, as well as victories at many of the leading shows in the US. Retired as a breeding sire, he was used on many of the Dun Haven mares and sired world and futurity champions. Jill's Magic Prince is a worthy ambassador for the Canadian Bred hackney pony.
